Abstract

The sheet metal bending process is one of the most important areas of application of plastic deformation. In the bending process, it is very important that the product should have the desired angle. Furthermore, in order to obtain the desired angle in the bent parts, the return angle amounts must be known. In this research, bending procedures were applied to sheet metal quality S235JR with a thickness of 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9 mm. The bending angle is: 20o, 30o, 45o, 60o, and 70o. These sheets are bent in a normalized state. In addition, the bending process is carried out so that the presser waits on the material for 3 seconds. As a result of the experiment, it was determined that while the amount of backlash increased in the 30° bending process depending on the material thickness, it decreased in the 60° and 90° applications.
