Anthropogenic impact from industrial activities, traffic and central heating furnaces are the biggest polluters of the urban zone. Natural phenomena should also be mentioned as additional element, which affect the intensity of pollution. The city of Zenica is a mixture of urban and industrial zones. The biggest difficulties caused by pollution are: questionable air quality, unprotected water resources, devastation and soil contamination, large amounts of unmanaged municipal and industrial waste, excessive logging and insufficient restoration of forest ecosystems. In the annual report on air quality in the FBiH for 201937, Zenica was the most polluted city according to the measured emissions of certain substances. The analysis of empirical data analyzed the intensity of emissions, its distribution in relation to the seasons and geographical position, using the method of constructing a wind rose. This paper presents the influence of natural characteristics (geographical position and wind directions), then the influence of industrial and other logistic activities on the intensity of dust and smoke emissions of Zenica. Then a proposal of measures was given for the management of local government that intends to reduce the level of emissions.
