Abstract

Trends in the transport and logistics system tend to follow the energy (green) transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Since they are gaining importance, high-quality economic solutions are necessary. Green transition and economic solutions largely depend on transport and logistics solutions. Sustainable transport and logistics systems and therefore the entire supply chains, primarily consumer goods, have an obligation to "protect the environment and human health". The trends of these systems are directed towards the intensive application of new technologies, primarily information technology, as well as digitization and intelligent traffic systems. Significant exchange of goods through transport and logistics processes between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina takes place exclusively by road transport. In order for this exchange to follow the demands and development of the market, preparations and adaptations to a sustainable transport and logistics system are necessary. Digitization and automation of the transport and logistics system play one of the key roles.
