Abstract

All countries from the so called The Western Balkans countries are on the path of joining the European Union. Application of Chapter 27-Environment i.e. promotion and implementation of sustainable development principles and protecting the environment for the current and future generations. Next, keeping in mind that it is about the region that was affected by the wars, which has been in the process of transition of the complete society and the economy, a region that has missed positive movements, rapid technological advances and economic welfare in Europe during the 1990s of the 20th century and during the first decade of the 21st century, in practice comes to numerous problems on the path of environmental and energy transition. Problems and obstacles in the public sector, which in all countries faced the same challenges at the level of the 80s of the 20th century, the lack of own funds for investments, low or non-existent profitability as the basis of credit potential for funding new technologies, frequent requests of the states (government or local governments) to delay the use of unpopular measures in the direction of productivity, economy and profitability of these companies, put top management in front of severe chalanges, leading them often into the ruthless situation, which will be subject to this paper, as well as proposal of sustainable solutions.
