Abstract

The pandemic of the disease COVID-19 has tested educational systems around the world, and the  experiences during it have shown us that the responsible inclusion of national policies, adaptation  of the work of educational institutions, adaptation and adoption of digital technology, methodology  and thinking of professional workers and proper management of power digital technologies, it is  possible to create a resource-efficient and resilient educational system. Through the digital  transition of the learning experience, both teachers and pupils/students can improve their skills  with a common goal: to create a more active and effective educational process. In order to digitally  mature to the level where the application of ICT technologies in the implementation of the  educational process will open additional opportunities for the transfer of knowledge and the  realization of the desired educational outcomes, educational institutions must first undergo  changes in four key elements that are simultaneously challenges of the educational system: digital  mature environment, digital mature and self-confident professionals, ICT as a support in learning  and teaching and digitally mature leadership.
