Various sources emit polluting substances into the air as a result of the internal industrial processes they carry out. Industrial operations, production of energy from fossil fuels, traffic activities, then construction and agricultural activities represent the most important stationary sources. The largest amounts of particulate matter and sulfur oxides originate from them. Mobile sources of pollution in underdeveloped countries represent a small part of the total pollution, considering the relatively underdeveloped traffic. During the operation of the car engine, oxygen reacts with otherwise inert nitrogen, whereby a number of nitrogen oxides are formed, of which NO and NO2 are the most important for observation due to their role in subsequent reactions in the atmosphere and the creation of PM2.5 to PM10. Under the influence of sunlight, released NOx and hydrocarbons, together with other pollutants from gasoline, react with each other, creating a series of hazardous products and floating particles. Human exposure to polluted air increases the risk of respiratory infections, heart attack, stroke and lung cancer. Harmful pollutants, which are closely related to increased mortality, are fine floating particles PM2.5, which can penetrate deep into the lung passages. The paper discussed the various effects of exposure to particulate air pollution, and gave a proposal to the management of all interested parties on how to reduce emissions of floating particles into the air.
