Abstract

This paper highlights the importance and the role of environmental education in order to enhance the environmental awareness of children in the educational institutions. Ecological education is only the part of the whole, being an integral part of the overall development of each personality. Through its curriculum, School could give the basis for further development of the environmental awareness and a solid basis for future improving of environmental attitudes, habits and ecological culture. Through its overall activity - particularly through courses and extracurricular activities, School has great opportunities for achieving environmental education. To achieve this, it is necessary to incorporate ecological principles that cover curricula into the complete process of teaching.
