Entitled topics focused on key issues characteristic features and specific regions of the Member States of the European Union. Starting point was the fact that regional differences in the economic sense in the 28 EU member states present in almost every country individually and in different ways manifest and exhibit. But most often encounter the following types of regional problems: undeveloped areas, stagnation or decline in existing industry base, saturated cities (or areas) and border areas. Concerning the analysis of issues related to regional problems, we will see that this problem has not donated a significant attention during the formation of the European Economic Community in 1957. year, but only after the 1970s. when European Union prepares for the adoption of a number of general rules and principles. Thus was established the development fund of the European region, and half of the nineties of the 20th century established the common regional policy of the European Union. The policy is based on the assistance to member states to enhance the economic development of underdeveloped regions in order to achieve the more balanced economic development and the reduction of regional disparities and renewal of old industrial areas. however, we will observe that despite all the efforts of the European Union was essentially resolved by the regional problems, with due to the large heterogeneity of the economic development of member countries.
