Abstract

The pandemic caused by the new acute respiratory virus SARS-CoV-2 has had and will continue to have a number of consequences for the legal and environmental aspects. At this moment human health is main priority of all countries of the world, while enviromental issues and their resolving are put on hold. CO2 emissions have been reduced and this had an impact on improving air quality even in the most polluted parts of the world. This enables the recovery of nature, cleaner and better air quality, cleaner water and the recovery of the ozone layer. But in addition to these positive changes, the pandemic also had those negative side such as increase in the amount of waste generated by households and the increase in the amount of medical waste and etc. The scale of the current pandemic will encourage reconsideration of legislative decisions and the role of plastics in general, the impact of which on the bacterial and viral safety of society is already known. This topic will review the forms of response of some countries to the challenges of the harmful effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the environment.
