The advancement of modern society has brought about significant positive changes, reflected in rapid progress across various aspects of human life. However, it has also led to evident negative impacts on the biosphere due to human activities, resulting in a decline in biological diversity. In response, sustainable development is being implemented across all sectors to reduce and prevent further harm to the environment. Sustainable construction, as a crucial component of sustainable development, represents an approach to architecture and construction that prioritizes minimizing the negative environmental and societal impacts of buildings. Through improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, using recycled and renewable materials, and incorporating sustainable solutions into both urban and rural settings, sustainable construction plays a vital role in lessening the environmental footprint while creating healthier and more comfortable living spaces. This paper aims to thoroughly examine the economic and ecological characteristics of sustainable construction, assessing its advantages, challenges, and potential applications within the construction industry. It will focus on how sustainable construction can mitigate ecological harm while delivering long-term economic benefits.
