Abstract

The paper gives an overview of the most important acts in the European Union that prohibit the sexual harassment at the workplace and recommend protection mechanisms. The problem of sexual harassment has been perceived from the aspect of gender (in) equality and discrimination, and the solution needs to be found in insisting for appropriate implementation of the principle of equal opportunities for women and men in the sphere of work and employment. For comparison, an overview has been made of the national legislative in this domain, with a conclusion that few initial steps in creating the adequate mechanisms of protection from sexual harassment in the workplace have been achieved.
