Abstract

Unlike earlier period when level of traffic safety was determined based on consequences of traffic accidents, there is a tendency nowadays in developed countries to find certain traffic safety indicator factors. Accordingly, the topic of this paper has been level of seat belt use while driving as one of fundamental indicators. This paper shows results of research on level of seat belt use (driver and passengers being in a car) while driving in Bihać. The results undoubtedly showed that the level of seat belt use is unacceptably low regardless user of vehicle (driver, passenger). This paper also presents how factors (vehicle user, gender, location, age, vehicle class, age of vehicle, education ...) influence the level of seat belt use
