Investment in scientific research are the long-term and continuous, with great risk. However, without significant investments in science, economic growth and development are not possible. This paper highlights the importance of the investment, with emphasis on issues relevant to Montenegro. Its hypothesis is that investments in scientific research should be a development priority, and they have no alternative.
