Abstract

Tug's from their first use until now are indispensable part of maritime activities. They assist large vessels during manouvring in restricted areas and during berthing andleaving the harbours, transporting vessels from one pier to another and passing trough narrow canals. Tugs are small vessels but very important. Tugs improves maneuverability to vessels,
they participate in towing vessels which can't move by themselves, towing the maons, barges etc. They have powerful engines which enable good manouvring skills. Tugs are not only used in the ports, they are usefull for coastal and ocean activities. So today there are harbour tugs, coastal tugs, and ocean going tugs. Vessels during berthing and leaving the port can require one ore more tugs, which will improve vessel maneuver skills.
