Abstract

The transport sector on the planet Earth produces about 26% of CO2 emissions. The greatest amount of emissions produced road vehicles and for them to binds 73% of all emissions. Emissions of the transport sector in BiH is now lower than in 1990., main emitter is road transport and accounts for 21%. Also, emissions in the transport of large and developed countries are mostly connected to road transport. The global demand for transport services has a tendency of rapid growth. The necessity of reducing emissions in the transport sector there is no alternative. Information on the scope of work of all modes of transport and the associated emissions of gases, are one of the solutions in the development and improvement of railways. A balanced approach to the development of the transport system is one of the possibilities of creating sustainable transport in the future. The default target of reducing emissions by 60% 2050 compared to 1990 can not be achieved without the measure. For each mode of transport available is a range of different measures. Economic and political measures are necessary for each transport mode.
