Crafts in Bosnia and Herzegovina represent an important segment of the national economy, with the potential to generate new jobs, improve local development and contribute to the increase in gross domestic product. However, in the current system, it faces numerous constraints that slow down its growth and reduce the competitiveness of craftsmen in the market. Among the key challenges are complicated and uneven registration and business procedures, unfavorable fiscal conditions, lack of institutional support and lack of legal and administrative education for small entrepreneurs. The experiences of European Union member states, such as Croatia and Slovenia, have shown that timely legislative reforms, with a strong inclusion of digital tools and the development of education systems, are key factors for success. The digitalization of procedures has enabled faster and simpler registration of crafts, reduced administrative costs and a greater degree of control over business, while the development of legal infrastructure has enabled craftsmen to effectively protect their rights. In the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reforms must be adapted to the complex political and institutional structure, but at the same time sufficiently bold and comprehensive. The priority must be the adoption of a single legal framework that would establish clear, consistent and entrepreneur-friendly business standards at the state level. It is also necessary to develop a network of educational and advisory centers that will provide continuous support to craftsmen, especially in the establishment phase and the first year of business.
