Abstract

The application of artificial intelligence in combating cybercrime has become one of the most important issues in modern justice systems and information security. Artificial intelligence enables advanced threat detection, large-scale data analysis, and prediction of potential attacks, thereby strengthening the capacities of judicial and security institutions. Through the use of algorithms, it is possible to quickly identify patterns of cybercriminal activities, improve digital forensics, and protect users from sophisticated attacks such as phishing or deepfake technology. Nevertheless, artificial intelligence can also serve as a weapon in the hands of cybercriminals, being used for automated attacks, the creation of realistic fake content, and the concealment of traces. This raises serious legal and ethical issues, particularly concerning privacy protection, accountability, and the necessity of international cooperation in combating digital threats. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a clear legal and ethical framework that will enable the use of artificial intelligence as a tool of protection while preventing its misuse.
