Abstract

Radar is a device for non-contact detection of presence, determination of position and speed of movement of objects in space. The principle of operation on which the radar is based is similar to the echo-reflected sound wave, except that the radar uses high-frequency electromagnetic waves and if an object is in its range, part of the wave energy is reflected from the object and returned. This registers the time it took for the wave to return and the direction from which the wave came, from which the position of the object is determined. Radar systems are used for different purposes, with different specifications. Some radar systems are used to control air traffic, then control at airports, and others long-range are used in surveillance and early warning systems
