Abstract

Driver distraction as road safety problem exists as long as car can drive. The larger significance of this phenomenon began to attach only in the last few years. There was a phenomenon of distractions drivers with driving caused by any event such as eating, drinking, smoking, search for radio channels, change the media, talking with passengers, and as the most dangerous among them, the use of cell phones while driving. There is a growing body of research and evidence to suggest that the diversion or distraction, as one of the key factors contributing to the breach of security of participants in road traffic and emerging traffic accidents. For this purpose, a survey on the use of cell phones while driving was conducted on a sample of 200 car drivers. The results indicate that drivers regardless of the legal ban on new legal measures frequently use cell phone while driving, regardless of the possible consequences for road safety.
