This paper analyzes the impact of proposed interconnections between Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring systems on the stability of its power system, taking into account recent regional disturbances in Southeast Europe. Through a detailed assessment of load flow and voltage conditions under increased cross-border electricity transit, special attention is given to options for connecting Banja Luka to the 400 kV network in Croatia. A comparative technical and economic analysis of interconnection options with Žerjavinec and Melina is conducted, with the conclusion that establishing a connection with the Žerjavinec node is the more favorable solution in terms of system stability, cost efficiency, and regional integration. The aim of the paper is to explore the interconnection options between the power systems of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia via 400 kV transmission lines from Banja Luka, through system stability analysis and load regime evaluation in the context of increased international energy transfers. Based on technical, economic, and strategic considerations, the paper recommends the Žerjavinec node as the preferred interconnection point.
