Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly present in everyday traffic as a green alternative. As these vehicles become more popular, significant problems emerge that prevent electric vehicles from becoming the standard mode of transportation. The main problems faced by the EV industry are limited charging infrastructure, significantly shorter range and longer charging times than fossil fuel vehicles. There are various plans that should solve EV problems. Solid-state, lithium-sulfur and sodium-ion batteries show promise in increasing the range and speeding up charging of EVs, while the numerous additional fast chargers and improvement of those solves the problem of multi-hour charging. In addition to these improvements, the latest data on static and dynamic wireless charging (WPT) shows positive results. Another significant development that is being intensively discussed is removable batteries and battery swapping stations. Vehicles that support this technology at battery swapping stations replace their empty battery with a full one. This method of “charging” is currently already used in most of Asia. The last way we can improve EVs is to introduce artificial intelligence to charging stations. Charging stations with AI technology are revolutionizing electric vehicle charging by enabling vehicles to autonomously connect to charging stations and complete the charging process entirely without human intervention.
