Abstract

In this report the focus is on improvement of life quality in urban environments and different issues caused by rapid development of the cities and individual traffic. Traffic congestion is a result of sudden urbanization and a variety of environmental issues that
population is facing daily. The common goal is to meet transport requirements of our users which lies in the quality of public passenger transport organization. Analysis of the existing conditions of public passenger transport in the City of Rijeka describes closely all the advantages of environmentally friendly fuels implementation and its longterm consequences, especially improved life quality in the city center.
Company Autotrolej Ltd. started implementation Compressed Natural Gas - CNG as alternative fuel by purchasing new powered busses towards increasing safety and quality of public transportations as well as optimisation of vehicle efficiency.
