Abstract

The igh density, and the intensity of traffic flows, improvement of driving dynamics of motor vehicles and the high percentage of participation of motor vehicles operated by persons who have not fully acquired professional management habits, technical malfunction of motor vehicles, poor road conditions and incorrect design of its geometry, as well as the increase in the density of population, have caused to a considerable extent the creation of dangerous situations and places that cause the occurrence of traffic accidents. Traffic does not pose a problem for itself, but the problem arises in the phenomena, relations and activities of human society. The increase in the number of motor vehicles and the relatively small volume of the increase in the modern road network, as well as the fact that in traffic accidents today in the world are fatalities more people than for any other reason, they stressed the problem of traffic safety in the first place. The situation regarding mortality caused by traffic accidents and the overall state of road traffic safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina is unsatisfactory. The road network in BiH is among the poorly developed in Europe. Likewise, the Bosnian-Herzegovinian roads lag behind the technical indicators, the elements of the route, as well as by longitudinal and transversal profiles in relation to the roads in the developed countries.
