Transportation on the pit mines is a complex and important process in the exploitation of mineral resources. More than 40% of total costs udobijanju coal accounted for transportation expenses. The former type of truck transport because of the depth of open pit mines proved to be very expensive and at the same time has a significant negative impact on the ecological system of the working environment in the mine and beyond. Thus the transport system with belt conveyors (dredge- conveyor-stacker) whose capacity is much higher and replaces dozens of truck system. At the same time reduced emissions that are released from oil and oil products. With the introduction of the transport system excavator-conveyor-stacker is possible to increase the transportation of mineral resources which is the main goal of the company, considering that during the construction of the Thermal Power Plant Banovići 350 MW power plant that will use coal from deposits, increasing the productivity and therefore the efficiency of the surface mining.
