Member States of the European Union have different traffic laws, mainly the laws focus on fast driving, drunk driving or under the influence of alcohol and the non-use of safety belts. Speed limits vary among Member States, alcoholmeters are most commonly used during control, while blood testing is used in special cases where legal evidence is required for a court. The use of seat belts is generally required. Most countries require security seats for children under three years of age, and several of them - including Ireland and Germany - require reinforcing places for older children. The European Union and Member States take seriously the law on driving and the sentences are rigorous. In some EU countries, it is freely ride on highways, like all highways in the UK and Germany, while on highways of Southern Europe in countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Croatia, they encounter cabins and pay a fee which depends on which distance you will drive, and the difference is mostly the same in terms of traffic in the European Union, therefore the comparison of laws in traffic in the EU countries can most be an example for these Member States.
