The interactive interdependence of international exchange and economic growth in transition countries motivates and directs research efforts in the phenomenological sphere of sport as a complex social system that permanently to some extent affects the development of the national economy. Through research work, it tries to evaluate methodically all the various effects that mega sport generates and thus contributes to the processes of internationalization of transition countries. In this regard, the research ground is a discourse analysis of contemporary trends of interdisciplinary connection between sports and economics. Its goal is to determine how to measure the impact of contemporary sport on the growth and development of the transition economy. This is also a causal assumption that the sports industry operates on segments of the economy, and in that sense, determines the role of sport through a diversified concept of sporting activity regarding the multifaceted approach. The significance of the research results suggests that the sports industry is placed in the international context as a desirable step towards a new paradigm of economic development which, together with the potential benefits of the sports industry, implies a role in the balance of payments of transition economies
