Corruption is considered as main cause as well as consequence of poverty in world and it continues to be one of the greatest compliance risks for organizations. It is present everywhere in the world to a varying degrees and in a various forms. Therefore, it has been recognized, that fight against corruption, need to be displaced from the post festum zone, through the laws and measures of repression, into zone of preventive actions by introducing an early detection and prevention system for corruption. International Organization for Standardization ISO published ISO 37001: 2016 - AntiCorruption Management System in October 2016. What is the standard ISO 37001: 2016? Who does the ISO 37001: 2016 standard address to, considering position on anticorruption rating scale of countries in the world, especially Western Balkan Countries? What are the basic benefits that the public institution or company can achieve by introducing ISO 37001: 2016? Which method of conducting and implementation of the ISO 37001: 2016 compliance program with anti-corruption laws and other standards is most appropriate? What are the key challenges, myths and potential constraints in the implementation of this standard? Finally, a conclusion was drawn on the implications of ISO 37001: 2016 on the future prevention of corruptive activities.
