Abstract

Air pollution in cities is causing health problems, particularly the children, the elderly and persons with chronicle illness are affected. Only recently in order to reduce the harmful impact of human population on the environment, several conferences (kyoto, copenhagen, and doha) have been organized at the global level with the main goal to discuss a possibility of reduction the level of gases that create the greenhouse effect primarily carbon dioxide. Having on mind the harmful effects of the car transport on the environment, generally the new trends has been developed concerning the innovative technologies as well as engines, which are used to run modern vehicles. The main objective that today's technology must achieve is the uninterrupted flow of the vehicles in order to support the free movement of goods and people, while dramatically reducing emissions of harmful gases which are result of the burning of fossil fuels in their engines.
