Abstract

The existing systems of public city transport of passengers in Bosnia and Herzegovina are significantly different in the structure of available transport capacities and organization model. The most of local self-management units have less than 50,000 residents, which means that the suburban transport component is dominant. Sarajevo is an exception with four subsystems of public city transport of passengers at Canton level (trams, trolleybuses, buses and minibuses). City transport of passengers is also dominant in Banja Luka, Zenica, Tuzla and Mostar. The quality of public city transport of passengers in Bosnia and Herzegovina can be determined with the analysis of the state of capacities and performed transport at a five-year level of observation, as well as using surveys of target groups from the public city transport system for passengers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This analysis is an early research aimed at determining the basic hypothesis for a scientific paper dealing with issues in the public city transport system for passengers.
