Abstract

Artificial intelligence is currently a growing technology that has captivated the intellect of
experimenters and researchers around the world. It is increasingly becoming more sophisticated in
learning and problem solving. As it increasingly intertwines with software and technology, it is to
be expected that such useful technology will safely enter CAD/CAM systems and become an
integral and vital part of them. So, the new CAD/CAM systems will include some kind of
intelligence or machine learning. Artificial intelligence drastically reduces the time for operations
such as creating or modifying a design for a new or existing model that is otherwise performed by
the human factor. It is also believed that in the future they will completely replace human executors
who will surpass them in almost every function. This paper examines the role of artificial
intelligence as an effective factor in CAD/CAM systems and presents the advantages and
disadvantages of its implementation.
