Abstract

Although it has the foundations of traditional logistics, e-logistics is somewhat more and radically different from traditional "industrial" logistics. It is designed to fit into the digital economy and internet applications. The concept of e-logistics is adapted to the digital economy in which the Internet is the main backbone. It is based on the flow of information and the possibility of the non-existence of physical resources. The aim of this paper is to point out the exceptional role and importance of e-logistics in modern business conditions. The paper presents the historical development of e-logistics, deals with efulfilment service, and discusses the problem of product delivery in the last mile. The paper provides guidelines to sellers (e-sellers) for better definition of marketing strategies, and to logistics providers for improving product delivery services
