Digitalisation and technological innovations that offer a number of savings, and especially workforce savings, are beginning to feel in the traffic sector as well as in the area of road transport safety. Numerous services are digitized and facilitate access to users, such as public transport tolls, digital ticket purchases, travel information, taxi transport services, delivery of goods, etc. In these digitized services, challenges in the area of traffic safety are not new, the key issue is the implementation and the replacement of personnel with digitized services. The digitalisation process in the transport sector offers tremendous opportunities, using intelligent transport systems, establishing smart networks, introducing smart vehicles, smart infrastructure, automated road traffic safety management, traffic flow management, automated driving, etc. Therefore, the processes of digitization, automation, robotisation, and the use of artificial intelligence are the future in the area of road transport safety, in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents and the consequences of such accidents. Digital skills and knowledge will play a key role in the future impact on road traffic safety. This will be a basic precondition for greater impact on all future measures in the transport and road transport sector. These processes will significantly affect the behavioural change of traffic participants, and in particular the use of intelligent systems, autonomous vehicles, road safety management systems and control systems.
