Abstract

For assuring a maximal safety for the drivers and an efficient traffic management very important part of road maintenance is road monitoring services. Monitoring patrol is essential for this functions, due to the high risks of accident if an obstacle remains on the pavement. The sooner the obstacle is removed, the less an accidents is likely to occur. It is therefore of paramount importance for the motorway network manager to know where the patrol vehicles were, status of roads and traffic. In order to speed up the flow of information (near real-time) and systematically keep records of reporting data there is a need for digitization of the various parts of the monitoring service. An advanced solution of monitoring services is presented in paper. The unique interface for more levels of management includes an integrated display for vehicle tracking via the GPS. Based on the data gathering during patrol service various documents are generated.
