Sustainable tourism in mountain areas represents a key challenge in the context of global climate change and increasing resource consumption. The aim of this research is to analyze the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism development in mountain regions, focusing on ecological, economic, and social aspects. Special emphasis is placed on strategies for conserving natural resources and biodiversity, as well as sustainable practices that can help mitigate the negative impacts of tourism. The methodological framework includes a literature review, an analysis of existing policies and strategies, and an empirical study conducted through surveys among tourists and local communities in selected mountain destinations. The expected results indicate the necessity of an integrated approach involving local authorities, the tourism sector, and communities in developing sustainable tourism models. Furthermore, the research highlights the importance of promoting ecotourism and implementing innovative technologies for ecosystem protection. The findings contribute to a better understanding of sustainable tourism in mountain areas and provide recommendations for improving tourism policies to ensure the long-term preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
