Taking into account the former model of organization of airspace, fragmentation and inefficiency of European systems of air traffic management and related provision of air navigation services, which are not able to respond to the new challenges of air transport in terms of reducing delays, reducing the price of provided services, increasing safety, and reducing the impact on the environment, European Union (EU) in 2004 launched an initiative for the so-called "Single European Sky" (SES), which will carried out air traffic management across national borders and create a single European airspace for the purpose of: increasing the level of safety, increasing airspace capacity, reducing the cost of air traffic management and reduction the negative impact of air transport on the environment. Bosnia and Herzegovina on 09.06.2006. signed the ECAA Agreement. The aim of the agreement is the creation of the European Common Aviation Area (ECAA). By this Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina has accepted the obligation to harmonize its national legislation with the European regulations and to implement aviation regulations of the EU. This paper gives an analysis of the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fulfillment of obligations undertaken by signing the ECAA Agreement and determines its current position in the project of a single European airspace.
