Abstract

The service sector is an important factor in the development of the modern economy. It
manifests itself through easier overcoming of the recession and stimulating economic growth and
employment. In doing so, learning and knowledge play a major role as key factors for improving the
innovative processes, in achieving enviable competitiveness. Key questions to which modern business
activity should relate to the challenges of knowledge management, technology and innovations. The
most important change taking place in the global economy relies on changing the basis of acquisition,
maintenance, development and improvement oft he competitive organization advantages and
management functions in the process. Organizations have a successful competitive profile if they offer
new, better, more reliable, more functional and cheaper products and services that the market and
consumers are looking for, and competitors can not offer in a competitive form. Nowadays, many
recognize the need for the ability to learn and for knowledge throughout the whole organization,
something that traditional authoritarian hierarchical organizations rarely possess.
