Abstract

The reliability, availability and adaptability of modern transport engineering, maintenance costs, energy costs and agricultural production costs depend on friction, wear and lubrication of numerous tribo-mechanical systems of transport and agricultural machinery. Exploitation characteristics reflect different aspects of motor oil behavior and represent the basis for determining the level of quality. The research of the characteristics of the oil used is the determination of the ability of the oil to successfully perform the functions of the tribo-mechanical system. The paper presents a part of the results of the long-term research of the degree of degradation and the determination of the optimal period of replacement of motor oils of several manufacturers, which were used in engines of agricultural engineering in real conditions of agricultural production.
