Lack of export market information is one of the most stated reasons for preventing firms to export and on the other hand, information on international market are closely connected to firms' success abroad. The goal of this paper is to explore which business information sources exporters use. For the purpose of this research, information sources were categorised as: institutions for providing export assistance; economic associations; market research agencies; in-house research and other business information sources. Furthermore, the extent to which exporters use specific information sources for their export activities as well as how gathering of business information from particular sources affect success of company’s export activities is being particularly analysed. Following hypothesis was being tested through the empirical survey: Large and successful exporters more often than smaller ones decide to gather export market information systematically. Survey has shown that regardless of size and success of export firm, exporters within this particular sample, are not gathering business information on a regular basis nor systematically, although 44.56% of participants said that they deem that export market information are key for successful firm’s presentation on international market and affect the result of export activities.
