Globalization is a process, which competitiveness and positioning on the market setting as a demanding process for survival and economic progress. The sector of civil engineering has special importance in every national economy, in particular, due to the wide and significant multiplier effect on all other economic and non business activities and export oriented business. Our goal was to define aspects through the concept of this work, which should contribute to a more efficient adaption to global challenges and the principles and practices of European and global companies and the more intensive use of globalization. We conducted research on the operations of 57 construction companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which operate on the domestic and foreign markets, with accent on human resources, as the most important factor of competitiveness. We also interviewed eight German s construction companies wich have been cooperating with companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and determined the perception of German investors about the competitive advantages and weakness which companies own in our country. The results of this research give a scientific contribution to the development of business organization, management and competitiveness of the companies and applicative contribution to the more efficient operation of bh. construction companyes on the EU and world markets.
