Abstract

Non-standard unsignalized intersections are a special group of unsignalized intersections where two next approaches have the same priority level. Defining of movement priorities of these intersections has some specific characteristics. For this reason, the values of traffic flow parameters at the crossroads differ from standard, as well as procedure of traffic conditions analysis. The specific way of defining priorities on non-standard unsignalized intersections are characterized by a number of different features in relation to all other types of intersections, which are not clearly defined in the law. For this reason, drivers on these intersections may have different interpretations of the traffic situation. This paper focuses on the basic characteristics of the traffic conditions at non-signalized intersections, which are very often on the street network in our region.
