Abstract

Modelling of port processes like cargo handling significantly contributes to the advance of port work organisation, work safety, increase of port efficiency, speed of cargo and merchandise flow and enhancement of port potentials. In this paper such model is put to test, and the results are compared with the actual business results of an existent company, Luka Šibenik, d.o.o. The tests conducted on the model developed in Luka Šibenik, d.o.o. during the discharge of the vessel Pakrac showed that the dynamic conduct of the vessel was very similar to the real situation during the process of vessel discharge.
