Abstract

The resolving requirements of sustainable mobility and road safety are a strategic issue of each country and its citizens. The goal was to emphasize the need for resolving the problems caused by sustainable mobility and the demand for more safety in traffic. To improve the efficiency of the transport system, the European Union has adopted a package of measures for resolving the problems and improving the mobility and traffic safety. Established guidelines for the development of plans of sustainable mobility in cities, adopted a plan to create a single European transport area. For new models of mobility, it is necessary to introduce innovations into the market focused on new technologies, as well as the creation of a modern infrastructure and networks. The realisation of established plans, measures and activities by 2020 year will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of transport while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable transport system, environmental protection, sustainable mobility and increase road safety.
