The current situation in the public transport of passengers in Sarajevo Canton is specific, both in terms of low quality of service and in terms of difficulties in the operation of the "GRAS" (Sarajevo Transport Company). In regards to this situation and the fact that this is a company with the majority of its capital owned by the state, there is the issue of rationally
revitalizing the company in order to improve the quality of service and create a sustainable system of public city transport of passengers, with a special emphasis to connecting all subsystems, i.e. means of transport (trams, trolleys, buses, minibuses and railway), with a special attention to the integration of the tariff system.The aims of creating a tariff community can significantly increase the number of users of the public city transport of passengers, i.e. decrease the use of cars, which will significantly decrease traffic jams in the city centre and with that increase traffic safety and decrease the level
of emissions of exhaust gasses into the atmosphere. Finally, an organized tariff community is going to create conditions for sustainable and even development and quality of life in the city.
