Abstract

The paper presents an approach in assessing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions from air traffic in the Canton Sarajevo, through the model based on Recommended Best Practice - RBP, which have been developed through collaboration between the agency the Federal Aviation Administration - FAA, Office of Environment and Energy - AEE, USEPA, the database on emissions of engines for aircraft developed by ICAO, based on the methodology Tier 3 / A made by the IPCC. The results were compared with estimated emissions from road traffic. In the context of the assessment of pollutant emissions the methodological differences between Tier 3 and Tier 3A / 3B, thus between road and air transport, as well as the advantage and necessity of using Tier 3A methodology versus Tier 1 to estimate emissions from air transport in BiH.
