Abstract

Energy storage technologies and energy efficiency are key components of modern power systems, as they contribute to optimal resource utilization, reduction of losses and support for sustainable development. The aim of the paper is to analyze modern energy storage methods and their role in improving energy efficiency, with a special focus on mobility and sustainability. In the paper, a comparative study of existing technologies such as battery systems, supercapacitors and thermal storage was performed. The results of the research on the topic show that the integration of advanced energy storage technologies can significantly reduce energy losses, increase the autonomy of electric vehicles and contribute to the reduction of harmful gas emissions. Energy storage technologies support grid flexibility and enable better management of renewable energy sources. The significance of these results is reflected in their contribution to sustainable development, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and improving the environmental and energy sustainability of transport and industry.
