Abstract

The modern development of information and communication technologies significantly influences the transformation of mobility and transport systems, especially in urban areas. The increase in population, the growing number of vehicles, as well as the intensification of traffic congestion and air pollution, create the need for the implementation of advanced technological solutions that enable more efficient traffic and resource management. In this context, technologies such as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) represent the foundation for the development of smart transport systems. Their application enables the collection, processing, and analysis of data in real time, thereby creating conditions for optimizing traffic flows, reducing congestion, and improving the safety of road users. Mobility is closely related to the concept of sustainable development, as the transport sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. By applying intelligent systems, it is possible to reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment, improve energy efficiency, and contribute to enhancing the quality of life of the population. Despite the numerous advantages, the implementation of these technologies also brings certain challenges that require detailed analysis.
