This paper analyzes digital (il)literacy among young people as a potential barrier to the implementation of communication strategies for sustainable mobility in the context of contemporary technological development. Although new technologies offer innovative solutions in smart transport systems and green transition processes, their effectiveness largely depends on users’ level of understanding and digital competencies. The aim of the research is to examine the extent to which students recognize the concept of sustainable mobility, use digital mobility-related tools, and understand communication messages promoting sustainable movement patterns. The study applies a survey method conducted among university students, focusing on perception, awareness, and readiness for behavioral change. The expected results indicate a discrepancy between technological capabilities and the level of digital literacy among young people, which may hinder the effective implementation of strategic communication models. The paper proposes the improvement of educational and communication approaches as a key step toward achieving sustainable mobility goals.
