Abstract

In this paper, we present the results of experimental research (survey of passengers on the selected flight) with the aim of assessing the factors of importance for making a decision on the choice of a mode of transport. Central to this is the analysis of the characteristics of the passenger population and their perception of the quality of services offered by the mode of transport they choose. From the facts WHO travels and WHY the type of transport on a given route is chosen, we come to know how the service user evaluates the attributes of the offered service, which we describe with an atribute vector: total travel costs, total travel time, transportation accuracy and reliability, timetable convenience, reservations, a sense of security, a sense of complete comfort. The paper presents the results of 425 respondents who chose the appropriate flight.
