Abstract

The European Union is founded on the values of respecting human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights. The aim of the EU's enlargement and technological development policy is to unify European countries within a common political and state project. Sustainable development offers the best chance to adjust our course. The concept of sustainable development is a consequence of the belief that environmental management and the rational use of natural resources are a prerequisite for achieving economic growth without environmental degradation, so the question arises as to how a more coherent relationship between environmental protection and the need for accelerated economic development. Almost all forecasts suggest that the demand for resources will continue to grow, in line with the trends of today profiling the markets for goods and services. Basically, the principle of sustainability (in constant increase of the population) means a drastic reduction in resource consumption per unit of production and provided services. The establishment of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology has provided a strong incentive for the integration of three sides of the "knowledge triangle" (education, research and innovation) for the first time by promoting new models of governance and financing. The approach to the analysis of the key issues that make up the global environmental challenges, to the content of this work is given a sequence of responses for obtaining eco-knowledge, applying modern methodology in education and economic instruments for sustainable development.
