The authors of this paper analyze the necessity of applying modern methods and techniques of company management from transition economies with the aim of improving the efficiency of operations and competitive competences. The greatest opportunity to improve the business of companies from transition countries implies a faster and more comprehensive application of contemporary methods and management techniques based on knowledge. The main factor which determines the new model of organizational management is knowledge. The key factor of global competitiveness and the basic imperative of the modern economy is the continuous improvement of knowledge and productivity, which in practical terms is achieved through the application of contemporary methods and management techniques, while marketing relations and application of integrated management systems based on international management standards are particularly distinguished
